Classic Albums Live is a concert series from Toronto, Canada. The group is composed of seasoned musicians who faithfully perform and recreate best-selling rock albums, such as Led Zeppelin’s self-titled albums, Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run, Eagles’ Hotel California, and more. The group was founded in 2003 by musician Craig Martin, known for producing cabaret shows and writing music for film and TV. Classic Albums Live makes a great effort to recreate every sound, distortion and beat from each album they cover. The group also performed with orchestras, sitarists, and choirs. Since its inception in 2003, the concert series has moved on to tours in major U.S. cities, like Orlando, Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Las Vegas, and more.
The group consists of a rotating lineup, but core members comprise Nick Hildyard, Rob Phillips, Lindsay Clark, Leslea Keurvorst, Troy Feener, Clifton David, Dom Polito, Doug Inglis, and Marty Morin. When in Toronto, Classic Albums Love usually performs in Massey Hall. In 2016, the group produced a musical titled, Gig.
This September, Classic Albums Live pays homage to one of the greatest rock albums from the ‘70s. "Twenty million people bought this album – first on vinyl, then cassette, then cd, then one day it was on our phones. We've lived a life alongside this album. Dark Side of the Moon came out in 1973. It was everywhere. The album cover prism was drawn on countless school binders," says Martin, “The musicians care about this album. It was our flagship show in 2003. It's the album that changed everything. It's a masterpiece that will be remembered forever."
